Privacy & Data

Last updated: 2026-06-17 · Questions: hello@jobstracker.org
The short version: The JobsTracker app keeps 100% of your data — résumé, applications, pasted emails — inside your own browser. It is never uploaded to us or anyone else. Analytics and ads run only on our marketing pages and never have access to anything you do inside the app.

1. The tracker app

Everything you enter into JobsTracker is stored locally in your browser (in localStorage), optionally encrypted with a passphrase that only you know. There is no account and no server. We cannot see, retrieve, or recover your data. Clearing your browser data deletes it; use the in-app Export to keep your own backup.

The app contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking scripts. Nothing you type into the tracker is ever sent to Google or anyone else.

2. The marketing pages

Our public pages (the home page, this page, and the about page) may use:

These run only on the marketing pages. They are deliberately absent from the app, so they can never observe your job search, résumé, or applications.

3. What Google can and cannot see

On the marketing pages, Google receives standard analytics and advertising data about that page visit. It does not receive any of your tracker data, because those scripts are not present in the app and we never transmit your in-app content anywhere.

4. Cookies

The app sets no tracking cookies. The marketing pages may set cookies via Google Analytics / AdSense. If you serve visitors in the EU/UK, present a consent banner and load these only after consent.

5. Your choices

You can block analytics and ads with a content blocker or by declining consent where offered — the app works fully either way. You can delete all local data at any time by clearing site data or using the app's reset option.
