About JobsTracker
A free, private job application tracker that runs entirely in your browser — no account, no cloud, no paywall.
Why I built it
JobsTracker started as a personal frustration. Every job tracker I tried fell into one of two camps: either the useful features were locked behind a monthly subscription, or the tool wanted full access to my email inbox before I'd added a single application. As someone in the middle of a job search, I didn't want to pay a recurring fee just to stay organised, and I really didn't want to hand my inbox to yet another company.
So I built the tool I wished existed — one that helps you track applications, see how well your résumé matches each role, and never miss a follow-up, without harvesting your data or charging you for the privilege. Then I made it free for everyone.
What makes it different
- 100% local. Your résumé, applications, and any pasted emails are stored only in your browser. They are never uploaded to a server — because there is no server.
- Free, with no catch. There's nothing to subscribe to. The whole product is a static web page plus your own browser doing the work, so it costs nothing to run at any scale.
- No account required. Open it and start tracking. If you share a computer, you can optionally lock your data behind a passphrase that only you know.
- Private by design. The tracker itself contains no analytics and no ads. Our public pages (like this one) use basic visitor analytics, but they can never see what's inside your tracker.
How it works
Upload your résumé, add the jobs you're applying to, and paste a job description to get an instant fit score — including the keywords you already match and the ones you're missing, so you know exactly how to tailor your résumé. Paste a recruiter email and JobsTracker reads it locally to update the status (interview, offer, or closed) and flags anything that needs a reply, so a scheduling request never slips through the cracks.
Where it's headed
JobsTracker is an independent project, actively maintained. Planned improvements include smarter, fully on-device résumé matching and an optional browser extension that can update statuses straight from your inbox — without ever sending your email to a server. The guiding rule never changes: your data stays yours.
